See your name in lights? Or maybe simply be seen in your milieu as the best and the brightest? Follow these proven instructions and become recognized as the star that you are!

1. Be fully yourself…
…no matter how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ you think you may be. Relish the day when the National Enquirer makes that pronouncement, and you are laughing on the beach in Tahiti. (You are neither good are bad. You just are. Some will love you, some won’t. It doesn’t matter. And who cares what others really think, anyway? If you are living in your truth, your life is perfect!)

2. Get seen, get heard…
…as many places as possible, as frequently as you can. When somebody realizes that special quality they are looking for, we want your face right in front of them! (You have a unique gift. If you keep it a secret, you’ll never be “discovered.” Let people know who you are.)

3. Enjoy persistence…
…because it’s a given. How attractive might you be if you were to joyfully go for it over and over again?! (Persistence can feel boring to you. Your message will be heard, though, and you will be seen. Usually, what you perceive as repetitious and boring is still new to other people and they hear you differently than you hear yourself. Keep at it. You will be heard and seen at exactly the right times by exactly the right people.)

4. Develop a thick — yet removable — skin…
…because your public will adore you and abhor you based on the quality of their lives, not yours. Keep your creative heart accessible while making mental boundaries about what you will not let effect you. (What other people think and say about you is none of your business. Stay true to yourself. It is the only thing that matters.)

5. Emulate the greatest (to a point)…
…meaning, imitate the strategies your heroes have utilized, while keeping your identity firmly rooted in Number One! (If someone else has done it, so can you. Find the model, learn their strategies then implement them in your own life.)

6. Entertain yourself…
…and keep finding more new ways to do so. Hey, if you don’t find yourself interesting, who else will? (Life is full of wonderful and exciting adventure. Explore. Experiment. LIVE!)

7. Build a community…
…of your raving fans. How to do this? Easy, add a lot of value to others in whatever way comes naturally to you. (Raving fans sing your praises without you having to do anything more than being yourself. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Smile more. Praise people. Acknowledge others a lot! Give of yourself, your time, your energy and your love. People are hungry for you and they will remember. Then they’ll talk about you. It is just an extension of who you are.)

8. Let rejection fuel you…
…because if it doesn’t fuel you, it will drain you. Ask yourself after every rejection how you will do it even better next time, and use the disappointment to project you toward that moment. (Rejection is seldom about you. It is usually a reflection of the other person’s so let it stay there. Learn from it all just don’t take it on as yours.)

9. Let acclaim humble you…
…remember what we said about the public? Acclaim is a certain sign that the best of people are before you. And you have the perspective to see that good taste is a sign of their own magnificence. (The public is fickle, though, and you will ride the waves of acclaim and obscurity. Be a surfer — hang ten and hang tough. Acclaim doesn’t change who you are or what you offer. It is one of your moments of fame.)

10. Give the people what they want...
…so ask a lot of questions up front to find out what that is. Then deliver it in your unique style to the delighted masses… (In delivering, don’t compromise yourself. Give what is you, not a composite of you according to what you think they want to see. You will never be able to be all to everyone. Be who you are — it is enough.)

It’s easy to shine when you get out of your own way.
